Our Story
A delightful retreat awaits for the person or family who rents this camp for a long weekend, week or even the season! Nestled in the Adirondack Park on the winding Black Creek is a cozy cabin for all seasons. A slight walk down a private path and you can launch a canoe from the landing or troll for fish from a rowboat while you cruise along the winding creek, while looking at the abundant wildlife or maybe even catching enough fish for dinner. During the summer month you are a short drive to the State Park on Hinckley Lake for swimming or sunbathing. Old Forge, Water Safari and a climb up Bald Mountain are an hours drive away. Fall, you just need to sit on the deck and see miles of gorgeous NY State finest foliage. Winter months skiers will take advantage of how close they are to McCauley Mountain, Snow Ridge and Gore Mountain. They are within driving distance for a day on the slopes. Snowmobilers are 500 feet from the snowmobile trails maintained by the Ohio Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club. The open floor plan of this cabin allows everyone to be part of the action. The cabin comes completely equipped. A wood burning stove provides atmosphere and additional warmth during the winter months or on a chilly Fall evening. The combination living room/dinning room area and kitchen offer a beautiful view of the sunset, the ravine bordering the creek and the starry moonlit sky at night. A large, comfortable screen porch is a great place to sit in the rocking chair or on the glider with a good book. It's also a great place for a card game or puzzle making. The deck faces the south, which offers a private place for tanning and for passive solar heat in the winter months. If there is a gambler in the crowd, Turning Stone Casino is an hours drive west on Route 365.
