Update for Edgemont. Dennis, Sandra,
and others are all safe. It was a catastropic flood. Homes creek side are either gone or have significant water damage. The bridge to the church is gone. Landslide from Pineola Rd/Crystal Pool area of HWY 90 makes it a challenge to hike up to the store. NCDOT and the prison camp with inmates will begin the cleaning/clearing of the debris to open the road back up as soon as they can.

Dennis and Sandra are safe with others in Edgemont. There’s no way in or out due to roads being washed out and multiple landslides. Many trees are down, no power or phone. A tree fell on my mom’s home place and the kitchen/back bedroom are severely damaged. I will update when they call.

*Update* Dad has made it out to Mortimer and called from Betsy’s Store. The road is a complete mess, the bridge to Edgemont Baptist Church is gone. There is 4-5 feet of water still at Coffey’s General Store. The water at Edgebrook cabin has receded, but more will come with the forecasted rain. Thank you all for your prayers, concerns, and well wishes. I will provide updates when I can.

Just wanted to let everyone know there has been extensive flood damage to Edgemont/Wilson Creek area. This is Dennis’ son (Dennis II) posting this. He’s safe at the Edgebrook cabin. The bridge to the cabin has been washed away and the road at Coffey’s General Store is completely underwater. Collettsville Fire Dept checked in on him and he’s fine and has plenty of supplies. He’s going to ride this out like the true mountain man he is! Per the fire department, there are several places of the road that have been washed out and there are mud/landslides in the area. Please everyone stay safe as there is more rain coming this evening/tomorrow morning.

Edgebrook is busy ....busy.....thank you for your comments...come up and take the tour.....sit on the front porch and swing and enjoy the sounds and the view of the gounds and listen to a bubbling brook....Joe's Fork Branch...lolol come on up......We are always open .....
