There is so much going on at Disneyland this year! May 27th is Guardians of the Galaxy:Mission Breakout and later this Summer the great Disneyland Railroad, Fantasmic and the Riverboats all return! I can't wait!

Frozen is making it's way to Disney's California Adventure in 2015 as well as an upgraded Soarin' experience. At Disneyland they'll be working on Matterhorn, all Fantasyland dark rides are getting upgrades with the most attention being paid to Peter Pan. The 60th anniversary is going to be an exciting one!

Disneyland's King Arthur's Carrousel History

Walt Disney’s dreams for Disneyland began when he watched his daughters ride on the carrousel in Griffith Park. So it came as no surprise that when Walt began his plans for Disneyland, he wanted a carrousel in his park.

In 1954, Disney scouts located a vintage carrousel in Toronto, Canada. The carrousel was dismantled and shipped to California where skilled artisans carefully restored it

At Walt’s request, workers removed giraffes, deer, and other animals and replaced them with hard-carved horses so that every Guest could ride aboard a galloping steed. The horses were then painted tan, brown, gray or brownish red and placed beneath a tournament-style canopy.

One thing that I enjoy doing on slow days at work is perusing through pictures of the Disney Parks by others who share the same passion I have for Disneyland. This picture is one of Walt and Mickey, saying bye to those leaving while greeting all others coming into the park simultaneously.
