Welcome to season 12 of our Sand Castles Cottages ownership! We will be working on some updates to the cottages as soon as winter officially leaves us.

Airbnb has had some pricing structure changes this year. The host is now responsible for the 15.5% reservation fees instead of the guest. This will make the nightly rates look higher as most hosts will adjust their rates to absorb this change. With us, however, your final cost will be about the same as it has been for the last few years.

If you want to save booking fees, we do have direct booking through our website by clicking on cottages and rates. We will look forward to hosting you this summer!

We had a huge storm come through last night and knocked out the power to the cottages. They are fine, but the ETA for restoration is tomorrow night. Sad for our vacation renters this weekend!

Welcome to Spring!
We are working on our spring cleanup at the cottage, getting ready for our 11th season as owners. The cottages will be ready for vacation rentals soon!

We are excited to announce that there is a new cafe open across the street called Lake Michigan Beach Ice Cream & Eatery! Our daughter Miriam will continue to clean for us but also work at the cafe. They will be serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner plus delicious ice cream and local roasted coffee.

If you tried to book for next week and found everything unavailable, it is because we are hosting our family at Sand Castles Cottages for our daughter’s wedding!
Alana has been our main housekeeper at Sand Castles since we bought the property 10 years ago. She always has a smile on her face and loves her job. We are so excited for Alana and her fiance, Shepard! ❤️ They will be living in Niles and for now Alana will still be helping with cleaning, but we are training younger sister Miriam to be our next great cleaning girl!
