Hi everyone! Just a note: for the next couple weeks there is a very large public hearing sign in the yard of the cottage. Unfortunately this is part of the journey with the new short term rental regulations in Columbia. The signs often cause much confusion in the neighborhoods, with residents assuming the house is for sale or being foreclosed on. It's simply letting the neighbors know that there is a conditional use permit in consideration with the city to allow the home to continue being used as a rental. No need to be concerned about the future of the house! :-) We look forward to the removal of the sign once the process is complete.

I am always so touched when a guest leaves a kind note, but when they leave a piece of art it moves me to tears! I have many pieces of artwork of the home displayed throughout the house, some from over 20+ years ago and some new pieces that have been left, like this sweet miniature left by Tom & Teresa, recent guests. I love how special the home is to everyone who stays! Thank you Tom and Teresa for this sweet gesture.

Recently our guest Sherri and her 19 year old son stayed for a weekend, and during the visit he hand drew us an incredible pencil drawing! I’m so humbled and grateful for this gift and amazed by this talent! His original drawing will be on display in the cottage, alongside other pieces given to us by artists who have been inspired by this community treasure. Thank you Sherri and please thank your son again for us!
