As of last week, Egret has a new owner, Melinda from Manteo. Sorry to let our cottage go, but it was the right time. For those of you who have rented, Melinda will continue to offer it as a vacation rental.

Happy to report that Egret and the other 3 cottages at Lasseters Landing survived the storm. Lost the steps to the pier, and a few pieces of lattice underneath, but no water inside. Some of our neighbors weren't so lucky.

"We simply had a great stay in this very lovely cottage. It is situated very beautifully and furnished tastefully. The whole area is so quiet and peaceful – a perfect place to relax. During the days we mainly explored the area and enjoyed the evenings on the porch relaxing and listening to the nature sounds. We were provided with everything we needed and Michelle is more than kind and helpful. Thanks again for all the help, advice and provided information. We highly recommend this place and would love to come back someday.”
