Blythewood Inn is a specious antebellum home constructed 1857 – 1859 in the French Colonial style as a private residence. The home has survived almost 160 years of history. Blythewood has been on the National Historic Registry since 1972 while it was still a private residence.

Blythewood was built 1857-1859 as a private residence. Blythewood’s builder was a carriage maker by the name of Mr. Thomas Keesee. The house had many owners and in the late 1880’s Mr. E. H. Hatcher bought the house.
The home survived more than 160 years of history. Blythewood has witnessed the Civil War, a tornado and the change from country living to what is now the city limits.
