You’ll find her at serving things up or helping bring Lantern’s events to life behind the scenes. From setup to service, she’s a big part of what keeps everything running smoothly.
McKenna graduated in December with a BA in Criminal Justice & Criminology (brains and hustle 💅), but you’ll usually catch her in her element at events—especially when it means getting out to things like the local Food & Wine Festival and other fun happenings around town 🍷
If you’ve had a great time at one of our events… she probably had something to do with it 😉

Preserving history is often found in the details ✨

For Part 2 of History Behind the Build, Meg Syms of shares how thoughtful design choices throughout Lantern Hotel Columbia and Ladder 13 honor the building’s legacy as Columbia’s former Fire Department Headquarters.

From historic imagery inspiring finishes throughout our lobby and Ladder 13 to custom details like replica fire department buttons incorporated into the bar stools, each element was selected with intention to connect past and present.

Because preserving history isn’t just about restoring a building. It’s about carrying its story forward.

Honored to share that the Lantern Hotel Columbia has been named a Preservation Award winner in the Preservation, Rehabilitation, or Restoration category by Historic Columbia. ✨⁠

Originally constructed between 1949 and 1951 as Columbia’s Central Fire Station, the property has been thoughtfully restored into Lantern Hotel Columbia while preserving many of its historic character defining elements and bringing new life to the Vista district.⁠

We’re back for another 🔦
Meet Dayquan, one of the friendly faces helping keep Lantern Hotel Columbia shining ✨ As our Public Area Cleaner, Dayquan handles everything from keeping bathrooms spotless to taking out the trash- making sure every space feels clean, comfortable, and guest-ready. Around here, teamwork is everything, and he’s always showing up for the team 💪
Before joining us, Dayquan worked at Goodwill and KFC, bringing that same strong work ethic and positive attitude with him every day.
When he’s off the clock? You’ll probably find him walking, cracking jokes, or drawing... Especially fish (Nemo included 🐠).
