Rusty Rio not Rotted Rio! - the front porch is ready for another rental season. Major plank replacement is complete. We also gave the porch a repaint. To top it off, we added cushions for the metal benches. This porch is the perfect place to see the sunset

Off season repairs and improvements underway at Rusty Rio:

1) Floor plug in living room!
2) New and improved bedside tables in the guest cabin
3) Texas Armadillo added to outdoor patio wall.
4) Someone overloaded the guest cabin futon this rental season…. Glue it and screw it!

The Concan got 8 inches of rain today. According to the USGS, the Frio went up about 10 feet and the water flow peaked at about 18,500 cubic feet per second.

Rusty Rio is way above the river and suffered no ill effects.

Typically, the river will recede in about 2 days and feature some very good tubing.

Many of you have heard about the major flooding on the Guadalupe river.

The recent major flooding did not hit the Frio River. The flooding was on the Guadalupe River about 80 miles east of our house. The Frio River did come up about 4 feet to 4000 cubic feet per second flow, but that is NOT flooding. In fact, in a day or two, the tubing will be excellent and safe on the Frio.

Please pray for those families affected and those still missing over there.

Concan got a bit of much needed rain on July 3rd, 2022.
Just under 2.5” of a yearly total of 6” happen.

We are at Rusty Rio this week finishing a few upgrades and repairs before the summer rental season begins. Of course we ALSO have to feed the deer.

No more need to make a run to the store for bags of ice! Rusty Rio added an ice maker for the 2022 season. It makes 25 pounds of ice a day.
