We finally get to slow down. ❤️
About a week ago, we heard that a significant amount of rain was headed our way. So Bert, Cash, and I hurried home, grabbed a few clothes, and stopped by the mercantile to pick up some food—just in case we ended up getting stranded at the camp.
Well… the forecasters were right.
The flood came, and for more than 72 hours, we stayed up around the clock watching the river, checking conditions, and helping our guests however we could.
It was a long and exhausting 72 hours, but we’re incredibly grateful. The rain was much needed, and we were fortunate that the debris left behind on the property was minimal.
Most of all, we want to say thank you to every guest, family member, friend, and community member who called, texted, checked in, offered prayers, or reached out to make sure we were okay. Your kindness, encouragement, and support meant more than you know during those long days and nights.
We are thankful for God’s protection over our family, our guests, our staff, and both properties we manage. We’re also grateful for everyone who worked tirelessly to keep our community safe throughout the storm.
Now, we’re looking forward to catching our breath…….the river is receding and guests are having a blast!
From the bottom of our hearts… thank you. ❤️
