You don't have to hunt to love hunting season at the lake.

While the hunters are out at dawn, the cove is yours: slow coffee, a good book, a blanket and nothing on the schedule. Crisp fall air, still water and the kind of quiet you can't find in town.

🦌 Cabins just opened up for hunting season!

Two cabins are free starting October 16. You get frosty mornings, big Okanogan country and a warm cabin to come back to at the end of the day.

Head out before sunrise and come back to hot coffee, a warm stove and the lake right outside the door. We can't promise you'll get your buck, but the stories will get bigger every year, and that's a Liars Cove tradition. 😉

🦌 Muzzleloader opens Saturday.

The hunters who do well opening morning usually aren't the ones who rolled in Friday at midnight. They came up Thursday, glassed their spot Friday, and slept a short drive from where they're hunting.

Liars Cove sits right between the Sinlahekin and the Okanogan. Cabins with real beds and hot showers, RV sites with room for the truck and trailer — and Thursday and Friday nights are still open.

🏹🦌 Hunting season is here in the Okanogan — and Liars Cove is your basecamp.

Archery deer is underway now (through Sept 25), muzzleloader opens Sept 26, and modern fi***rm season kicks off Oct 17. Bear season's open right through mid-November. Whatever you're chasing, we're minutes from the Sinlahekin, Methow, and Okanogan wildlife areas — close enough to be out before sunrise, close enough to be back for a hot shower and a real bed by dark.

Cabins and RV sites available, room for trucks and trailers, and we've been the local basecamp on this lake since 1957. Weeknights are wide open right now — no crowds, no waiting.

Conktoberfest — Saturday, September 26.

Conconully's answer to Oktoberfest: German food, cold b**r, and a souvenir glass you'll still have in ten years. $25 a person at the Community Hall. 21 and over — the Liquor Board was firm about that one.

Our honest advice: it's a better party when the drive home is five minutes up the road instead of five hours back over the pass.

Late September out here is the stretch nobody talks about. The lake is quiet, the nights are cool, the water's still good, and the cottonwoods are turning. Cabins, RV sites, and tent sites are open that weekend.

Fair week is here. The 79th Annual Okanogan County Fair opens tomorrow, September 10–13, about 20 minutes up the road — rodeo, horse racing from the gate, the Horse Nation Indian Relay Races, blue-ribbon livestock, 4-H, food row, and the whole county turning out.
Fairgrounds gates: Thu–Sat 9am–10pm, Sun 9am–3pm.

Base camp with us on the lake instead of fighting for a motel room in town. Cabins and RV sites are open all four days.

Last call for the weekend.

We're still holding a couple of rental RVs and a handful of sites. Once they're gone, that's the holiday.

Ask anybody who's been coming here twenty years which weekend they'd pick, and a good number of them say this one.

The water's still warm enough to swim. The air's clearer. The mornings have that little bite that makes coffee outside feel like something special. The fish are moving. And there's enough room on the lake that you're not sharing your cove with anybody.

Three fully equipped rental RVs and about a dozen RV pull-through sites are still open for the weekend. After that we start winding down toward fall.
