Job Title: Night Auditor
Department: Rooms Division
Reports To: Operations Manager/General Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Job Summary
The Night Auditor is responsible for performing in a pleasant, professional and efficient manner, a combination of duties not limited to, performing the hotel’s nightly audit, answering telephones, and assisting with guest services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provides professional and courteous guest service at all times
• Answers telephone calls courteously and efficiently
• Registers and assigns room(s) to guests
• Answers inquiries regarding hotel services, registration of guests, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions
• Computes bills, receives payments and makes change for guests
• Prepares accurate Daily Report
• Posts ancillary charges to guest folios (food, liquor, room, telephone)
• Promote any current hotel and franchise marketing programs
• Acts as Manager On Duty when scheduled
• Responds to and assists guests in even of an emergency
Additional Duties
• Transmits and receives messages through telephone, facsimile, and switchboard
• Makes confirms, cancels, and changes guest reservations
• Keeps records of room availability and guest’s accounts
• Maintains wake-up call service
• Make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations for guests
• Maintains clean and neat work and storage space
• Attends monthly department meetings
• Actively seeks out other tasks when current work is complete
• Completes projects as determined by Rooms Operations Manager

Minimum Qualifications
• Education or Experience- High school diploma or GED equivalent; or three to six months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Language Skills- Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: read and understand instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech. Speak with poise, professionalism, and confidence using proper English.
• Mathematical Skills- Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units or measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute ratio, rate, and percent. Possesses sharp ability for attention to detail (able to quickly identify variances in standards), working efficiently, and flexibly. • Reasoning Ability- Must have developed reasoning skills to be able to: solve practical problems and deal with variety of situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to pass physical exam, drug test, and background check
• Requires walking, sitting, and standing to a significant degree, reaching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, handling, talking, hearing, and seeing
• Lifting up to 25 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying or transporting of objects weighing up to 10 lbs.
