Down at Ashtabula Harbor, the great ore docks once ruled the waterfront. The towering unloaders swung out over the freighters, hauling iron ore up from the holds in a rhythm that defined this Lake Erie town for decades. ⚓

As the first cool winds of fall came off the water, dockworkers would pull their collars a little tighter and keep the ore moving before the lake turned rough. The shoreline trees began their slow turn while the steel giants kept working overhead.

It was hard, honest labor that built the neighborhoods and filled the harbor with life. 🍂
