Lately, we've been delighted to welcome guests booking vacations at White Eagle, eager to give their children the same cherished summer experiences they once enjoyed as kids. Many of these guests have fond memories of staying with us in the past that have inspired them to start coming again with their kids.
One guest recently called, and chatted with Tom about their shared childhood adventures—those late- night bike rides around the resort, where unexpected encounters with bears added an extra thrill. Another guest simply wanted her children to experience the joy of fishing off the gas dock, just as she did when she was their age, reeling in perch after perch.
Witnessing parents create these core memories with their children, reliving the same activities that once filled their own childhoods, is truly an honor for us. We take pride in being a place where families return year after year, weaving together traditions that span decades. Some families have been coming for over 70 years, now spanning four generations!
Like you, our guests, we love tradition and raising our daughters here at the resort has been a beautiful echo of Tom’s childhood. This past week I (Steph) took a deep dive into the Lantry family archives and found some true gems that helped me to visualize what childhood in the early to mid 90’s at White Eagle Resort was like.
We'd love to hear from you! If you have any childhood memories of Lake Vermilion or White Eagle Resort, please share them with us. Your stories are what make this place truly special.
