Happy Mother’s Day from the LVRTA Team

Mother’s Day always makes me think about my own mom and how much she understood what really mattered. We grew up with modest means and a big family, but somehow she insisted we have a little cabin up north.

Looking back, I don’t remember the things we didn’t have. I remember waterskiing, fishing, playing cards, campfires, rainy days, laughter, and stories that somehow got funnier every year. She may no longer be with us, but the memories made at that lake cabin continue more than 50 years later, now shared with even more generations of our family.

Moms just have a way of figuring things out somehow. Of making things work when they probably shouldn’t. Of turning simple moments into the memories we carry for the rest of our lives.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmas, stepmoms, and mother figures out there. I hope your day is filled with love, laughter, and the people who matter most.

🎣 IT’S FISHING OPENER DAY! 🎣

The coffee’s hot, the livewell’s ready, and somewhere on Lake Vermilion a walleye is about to make somebody very happy today. 😄

From sunrise boat launches to fish stories back at the resort tonight, opener weekend is one of our favorite traditions of the year. Whether you land a trophy, your personal best, or “the one that almost got away,” we want to see it!

Lake Vermilion — April 28, 2026 ✅
The Minnesota DNR just confirmed it and we just launched our first Houseboat of the season— our big beautiful lake is officially open! After weeks of watching and waiting, the ice has finally surrendered.
Time to dust off the boats, rig up the rods, and get ready for an epic 2026 season on the water.
