Sure, it's State Fair season, and we love a good corn dog as much as anyone. But if you're craving some fun without the $30 parking, the crowds, and the lines… we invite to head north instead. On Lake Vermilion, the food on a stick is a marshmallow roasted golden over a crackling fire. The only "parking" is your boat tied to the dock. 🛶 And the only lines you'll wait in are the ones you cast into the water.

🐻 The guest list at Everett Bay Lodge: a belted kingfisher, a great blue heron, a pileated woodpecker, a deer, a bear, and one very photogenic frog. 🐸

Talk about a wild bunch! 😄 Our friends at Everett Bay Lodge captured some incredible visitors around the resort lately - proof that on Lake Vermilion, the neighbors are a little on the wild side. 🦌🐾

In the Northwoods, you never quite know who'll swoop in, wander by, or pose for a photo. Morning coffee on the dock might come with a heron gliding past or a woodpecker drumming in the pines.
