Want to lend a hand and be part of one of Pennsylvania’s coolest fishing traditions? The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is looking for volunteers to help stock hatchery-raised trout in streams and lakes across the state—including in our beautiful state parks and forests!

Stocking starts soon, and you can find the schedule by county, complete with stocking dates, meeting spots, and trout species info.

Come join us tomorrow for America's 250 Living History Cast Iron Cooking. Members from Chapman State Park, Maurice K. Goddard State Park, McConnells Mill State Park, Parker Dam State Park, Presque Isle State Park, Pymatuning State Park, Sinnemahoning State Park, and DCNR Bureau of Forestry will here showing off their Dutch oven cooking skills.

This is one-time only new park event that you will not want to miss!! Located at our River Cabin area, just upstream from our new River Pavilion along River Road.

There is also a passport that you can get stamped at each cooking station you visit. Complete the passport and enter for a chance to win a cast iron Dutch oven. You will pick up the passport at the welcome table. There will be some available in the park office as well.

We hope to see you there! Come enjoy some food and history.

It is definitely a black bear sort of year in Cook Forest! This mama has four cubs. Always keep your distance! This is their home so give them space. They will move on when they are ready. She is just beautiful though.

On to the business of the day! PFDs are recommended since the flow is still up. Here are the daily stats:

Current Depth: 3.79'
Flow: 1,260 cfs
Morning Water Temp: 60
Minimum Age: 2 years old

We open at 9 am and will run these trips all day UNTIL the following times:

12 pm: 10-mile Canoe or Kayak
2 pm: 4-mile 6-person River Raft or Tube
3 pm: 2.5-mile Inner Tube
4 pm: 4-mile Canoe or Kayak

All equipment is first come first serve. We do not make reservations. All equipment must be returned to the dock by 6 pm.

If you are coming with a group, please sign up together so you are in the same van. If you sign up at different times, we cannot guarantee that you will go upriver at the same time.

We do not allow trailers on weekends and holidays. Be sure to check out our website for more transport information.
