Historic Nerdrum House

foot colonial-style house was built in 1910 by two Finnish brothers, the Nerdrums, who worked for the C.A. There they pioneered the use of salt water from the bay in making pulp, a process that later proved unprofitable. There is a stately presence with high ceilings and large rooms, which actually are very warm and inviting. The house has a unique open air balcony that surrounds the second floor, with detailed woodworking throughout. The Manor offers four large bedrooms; each with a private bath. Each of the rooms is on the second floor. The Coos Bay Manor is an elegant bed and breakfast. Come share a piece of Coos County's history! To really appreciate the life and amenities of the Coos Bay area and South Coast, it takes the perspective of people who have made their lives here. Both Coos Bay natives and graduates of Marshfield High School, Coos Bay Manor owners David and Madge Osborn are delighted to share their knowledge of the local recreational opportunities and other features that make this community one of a kind! Entertaining guests and being ambassadors for the community is their greatest passion. They both have plenty of stories to tell that reflect on the traditional Coos Bay experience. Don’t forget to ask Dave about his experiences working in the rugged woods of Oregon as a logger for nearly four decades.

Taste of Home Magazine has an article The Most Iconic Ice Cream Flavor in Every State. Oregon's has our very own Marionberry leading the way.
Marionberries are an Oregon invention—a tart-sweet blackberry hybrid bred at Oregon State University and named for Marion County. Tillamook, the iconic Oregon creamery operating since 1909, swirls them into its Marionberry pie ice cream with chunks of flaky pie crust over a vanilla base. Oregon grows nearly all the Marionberries in the U.S.

We had a great little getaway with grandsons. Crater Lake is beautiful and Oregon is blessed to have this gem💎. If you haven’t been there— it is a must see!!
