History Of Corinth Elks Lodge #2573

The Corinth Elks Lodge was formed on June 15,1906 with 39 charter members. The Elks Lodge first home was the Cotton Exchange Building located on Fillmore and Cruise Street. On Christmas Eve in 1920 the Corinth Elks Lodge burned to the ground. The Corinth Elks Lodge moved to the second floor of the old City Hall on Foot and Jackson Street and from there moved to

the Liddon Building on Franklin and Cruise Street. In the early thirties they moved to the second floor of the Rankin Printing Building on Fillmore Street.. During this time the Lodge bought and built a cabin on Pickwick Lake. On March 21, 1963 the Corinth Elks Lodge ceased to exist. The Pickwick property was sold and the Rankin Building vacated. The Elks Charter then returned to the Grand Lodge. In April 1978 the Corinth Elks Lodge instituted a new Lodge # 2573 with a membership of 134. In May of 1979 the Lodge purchased the current building located on Robertson Drive.
