Nowhere you need to be.
Just a quiet place in the woods and permission to slow down.

That’s what we hoped Oakwood would feel like.

The decorations will come down.

The balloons will deflate.

The cake will be gone.

But we have a feeling that’s not what she’ll remember.

She’ll remember feeling celebrated.

She’ll remember spending a whole weekend with the people she loves.

She’ll remember that, for one weekend, an entire retreat became detective headquarters just for her.

That’s why we built Oakwood.

One thing that surprises guests at Oakwood is the bathrooms. Each lodging has its own private bathroom—no campground style bathhouses or shared shower stalls. You’ll find a hot shower, fresh towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and everything you need to get cleaned up after a day outside. It’s one more way we make spending time in nature feel comfortable.

This was never about putting heads in beds.

Yes, we built places to stay.

But what we were really hoping to build was something much harder to find.

A place where conversations last longer because no one is rushing.

Where kids trade screens for fireflies.

Where the stars remind you how big the world really is.

Where couples reconnect, families make memories, and solo travelers remember what quiet feels like.

Life moves fast. We hope Oakwood gives you permission to slow down—even if it’s just for a weekend.
