The Beddingfield is a wonderful first-floor mini-suite in the 1764 House with a king-size bed that can be converted into two twin beds. The room contains an impressive stone wood-burning fireplace with the original mantel, small-paned French windows, original wide floor planks, and exposed ceiling beams. There is also a separate sitting room with two daybeds suitable for two additional traveling companions. This room is one of our three dog-friendly rooms.

Climb a narrow and winding staircase in the 1764 House to the Oxfordshire + Gables rooms. The Oxfordshire, with its 20’ high “A” frame ceiling, original hand-hewn exposed beams, and hand-pegged joints, has a queen-size bed and a generous sitting area with an inviting antique-reproduction electric fire stove and two wingback chairs. The original wide floor planks are softened by a richly colored oriental carpet. Skylights enhance the natural cheerfulness of the room. Please note: the ceiling is low at a 6’4″ clearance to the beams. By adding the Gables, a smaller room under the eaves that contains twin beds, this combination suite can accommodate up to four guests. Because the Gables shares a bathroom with the Oxfordshire, is suitable only for traveling companions. This room is one of our three dog-friendly rooms.

A cozy stay that feels like stepping back in time 🔥
The Hambleton room, on the first floor of the 1764 House, has a queen-size bed.
This room has personality!
Sitting on the sofa, you can enjoy the warmth and romance of the wood burning fireplace with the original mantel. Next to the fireplace is a marvelous free-standing claw-footed soaking tub. Duck around the chimney to the full private bathroom with a shower stall, deep red floor tiles, and original wood-plank walls.
Please note, the ceiling is low at 6’7″ (people were a lot shorter in 1764!).
This is more than a stay — it’s a cozy boutique hotel experience in the Hudson Valley, perfect for:
