This was our family’s first visit to the Outer Banks 4 years ago exactly. Coincidentally, we realized while we were driving down on 6/7 that June 7th marked 4 years to the very first day we arrived. We fell in love with OBX on that stay, but the seed to build, or even to buy, had not yet been planted.

How much can change in 4 years? That 5 year old is now a 9 year old, those 12 year old tweens are now 16 year olds looking at colleges. COVID times helped us dare to live in the moment and take leaps of faith I could never have dreamed imaginable just one year prior. We’ve designed and built two luxury vacation rentals, sold one, and are considering building again. A lot can change in 4 years 🙏.

Welcome to Ocean Sands South! Spacious beachside culdesacs and no public or street parking, which means only local traffic and less people on our beach. Ocean Sands A is even fortunate enough to neighbor a half mile of undeveloped beach! I can’t imagine a better place in OBX to call home!

Excited to offer our guests an upgraded linen service in 2023! Through many discussions and deliberations, we’ve worked with Twiddy to arrange off site laundering of all bed quilts and shams on a weekly basis ✨🙌.

I LOVE the crisp look of white bedding… but only when it’s clean 🫧 🫧🫧! Over the course of 2022, I personally washed and replaced countless quilts and shams each time I visited- I couldn’t stand to find bedding that showed any evidence of use, and I’m guessing our guests feel the same. So each time the home is cleaned on turnover days, the cleaning crew will replace all quilts and shams with freshly laundered bedding. Our goal is to continue to improve our guest experience, and we hope this adds value and peace of mind. Sweet dreams 💕

Holiday Greetings from the beautiful gulf coast!

As the sun sets on 2022, it’s nice to take a few moments to enjoy simple pleasures (like beach sunsets 😍) with our little family without the distractions of school, work, sports, and keeping up with our crazy calendar. I’m not gonna lie- It’s been a challenge juggling everything the last few months. There have been many days where I’ve felt in over my head, pulled in every different direction. It feels good to hit the reset button. Cheers to health, peace, prosperity and balance in 2023 🥂✨. And to many, many sunrises and sunsets 🌅 😘.

It’s a Christmas miracle 🌲 ✨ - after nearly a year, our 2nd bistro table finally arrived intact for our built-in breakfast nook. After several failed delivery attempts involving missing or damaged pieces and back-ordered replacement orders, hours and hours of frustrating (unproductive) phone conversations and scheduled delivery windows, I sure hope makes this right. We made it through our entire first rental season with only half of our vision for the space. Can’t wait to see it in person, but it sure looks 👌in the pics 👉…

We held out as long as we could on closing the pool for the season, but sadly the time has come. It was beautiful to look at over Thanksgiving break and some of us (not me 🥶😂) even jumped in a few times. Look forward to pool days returning in the Spring 👙☀️🕶🍹.
