Truly one of my top favorite places in this world. When I arrive in Manteo, I feel I can leave burdens behind. Walking down the streets, enjoying the shops and amazing places to eat, just refills my heart. So thankful for this amazing town and for the memories we have made and will continue to make each visit! Thank you Manteo for always waiting to welcome us with open arms.

Another great idea to see abs experience this wonderful area

Did you know... the Outer Banks is home to three (3) of only four (4) maritime forests worldwide, and that Duck is a part of one of them!? This unique ecosystem is influenced by the ocean and its winds, salt spray, and overwash and formed during the ice age behind the protection of natural dunes.

This Tuesday, November 14, from 4:00-5:30 p.m., we are hosting the final Nature on the Boardwalk of the season with and educator from the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island. While most of the walk takes place on the Boardwalk, where we take water samples and learn about wildlife and plants that live in the sound, the walk starts in our unique maritime forest.
