Help us allow the baby sea turtles to safely make their way out to sea by keeping all the exterior lights off at night🙃

Sea Turtles Dig the Dark 🌕 𓆉

Too much artificial light at night can harm sea turtles, especially hatchlings. Bright beachfront lighting can disorient them, pulling them away from the ocean and putting their lives at risk.

That's why we're working to identify problem lights and recommend turtle friendly fixes like using motion sensors, shielding bulbs, switching to amber LESs, or turning off lights when they're not needed.

Together we can keep our skies dark, our stars bright, and our beaches safe for sea turtles!

This conservation work for protected sea turtles in northern Outer Banks is authorized by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission (ES Permit )

Our double red flags are flying today! Double red flags mean that swimming is in violation of Currituck County ordinances. Violation of this ordinance can result in legal consequences. The ocean conditions are extremely hazardous and it is too dangerous for anyone to swim. No swimming, wading, or use of flotation devices is allowed. We have these rules in place to keep everyone safe, please abide by them. Respect the lifeguards' warnings and the ocean's power!

SATURDAY CHECK IN - 4X4 BEACH - Approximately 3 miles up the 4x4 beach Hot tub and pool is open May 1st through October 1st.

SALTED DUNES, one of Swan Beach's finest 7 Bedroom homes perched against oceanfront dunes of the wild and beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina. This home boasts views of blue-green waves, bubbling white surf, and wide, sandy, beaches as far as the eye can see. The adventure begins as soon as your 4x4 vehicle leaves the pavement to drive right on the sand, only a few feet from the roar of the surf.

Panoramic views, Stunning Kitchen, state of the art electronics, quality bedding and wonderful comfy beds, delicious drinking water and a well-stocked kitchen are at your disposal. All newly updated roku smart tvs, bring your own passwords to utilize the streaming apps (YouTube tv, Hulu, Netflix, etc). The hot tub is located on the 2nd floor deck off one of the bedrooms. With the ground floor Game room and poolside entertainment a breeze. Hop out of the pool and walk 50 feet across the dune to the ocean!

The extremely well equipped kitchen with stunning cabinets and granite has all stainless major appliances, cookware, utensils and small appliances. Brew your morning coffee in the Keurig, and Mr. Coffee makers and enjoy it while watching the waves from the screened porch just off the kitchen.

POOL and HOT TUB are opened from MAY 1st until OCTOBER 1ST. The pool is NOT heated.
