For everyone who knows
Janet Langard. This is an update from her daughters.
I wanted to update you all on my mom’s health. As you may or may not know, in June my mom started to experience speech issues. After many tests it is now confirmed my mom has three brain tumors located in her frontal lobe. This finding prompted immediate action for surgery and biopsy. The surgery confirmed that the type of tumor my mom has is not removable and is cancerous. The tumors cannot be safely removed because of its size and location. The removal of the tumor would cause significant harm. We are still waiting on pathology to confirm however it is the medical team’s professional opinion the type of tumors is Glioblastoma (Glee-o- blast-Oma) or GBM for short. I have attached a link for more info below.

The tumors are impacting her speech, memory, and overall cognition. She may experience difficulty in performing everyday tasks and may require assistance with basic activities.
Given the nature of GBM and its aggressive growth, the medical team has informed us that the prognosis for my mom is unfortunately not favorable. They estimate that she may have around 12-18 months to live, but this can vary depending on how her body responds to treatments and her overall health.
As a family, we are devastated by this news and are doing our best to support my mom during this difficult time. We are actively seeking better short term/long term accommodations and guidance of palliative care specialists to ensure that she is comfortable and receiving the best possible care to manage her symptoms and improve her quality of life. This process is especially challenging for Shelly and I both as we reside out of state. We greatly appreciate all those who have graciously helped us through this challenging time.
We understand that this is a lot to process, and we appreciate all the love, support, and prayers.

Thank you again for your love and support.
