La Mesa RV Park has been family owned and operated since the 1970′s. Our family oriented park is central to many famous attractions. Our staff members are local to the area, and we know all the good spots. Mountain biking, off roading, hunting, fishing, site seeing…..we’ve got recommendations for all of your recreation needs.

The countdown is on! Only 8 weeks to go until the spring Mitten Shadow is visible in Monument Valley! Twice each year, for just a few days in late March and mid-September, West Mitten Butte casts a perfect shadow upon East Mitten Butte at sunset.

The Canyons of the Ancients Visitor Center and Museum is currently closed for the final phase of significant floor renovations. The building will reopen to the public on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023, and will return to normal business hours at that time (Tues - Sat 9 am - 5 pm). The Monument, Escalante Trail, and access to visit Dominguez and Escalante Pueblos remain open. Maps and brochures are available at the Visitor Center and Museum parking lot kiosk, Dolores Public Lands Office, and Colorado Welcome Center. If you have additional questions, please call us at 970-882-5600. We thank you for your patience and look forward to welcoming the community back next Wednesday, July 19th!

⚠️TRAVEL ALERT⚠️ | US 550 north of Durango closed on May 27 of Memorial Day weekend

US Highway 550 will be closed north of Durango on Saturday, May 27, during the annual Iron Horse Bicycle Classic 🚴

➡️ Motorists are urged to leave Durango early if traveling to Silverton or points beyond, since US 550 will be closed between Purgatory Ski Resort and Silverton from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. to accommodate cyclists.

➡️ Travelers heading south from Silverton, Ridgway or Montrose on US 550 should be aware the highway will be closed just south of Silverton.

➡️ Motorists will not be permitted to travel within the closure points after 8:30 a.m. The highway will reopen at 1:30 p.m.
