Charles is one of Cortland County's five oldest, continually operated businesses. The hotel added a bar room and, with the exception of prohibition, has been serving patrons ever since. Charles Hotel has been run by its current owners since 1978. Charles prides itself on its friendly environment, being noted by many for the bar's lack of confrontations and drama. In addition to serving drinks, The
St. Charles hosts many parties, gatherings, and events. They have the ability to cater the events held and also serve lunch daily, Monday through Friday. The New York Lottery, Quickdraw, and Capital OTB are available. There is also an ATM for customer use.
