Dolly lives on here at Creekwalk Inn and on our mountain at Locust Ridge where our honeymoon cabins share the beauty of her birthplace. I walked down to the river on our 30 acres less than a half mile from her hideout village on Locust Ridge. Every year Dolly donated a “breakfast with Dolly” to our Rotary Club in Gatlinburg and top bidder was hosted by Dolly up on Locust Ridge at her cabin.
I’m sure she loved the river too! Our trail is private just for our guests at the 12 hot tub cabins above the Pigeon River. It is just 3/4 mile walk to the river and a beautiful pool for a dip or to try catching a trout. We would see Dolly driving our mountain every once in a while. How she loved the mountains! How we loved her!!

Major excitement here at Whisperwood Farm air lodging includes viewing two of the most beautiful horse on the planet, and the Lusitano and Friesian breed crossed with a Morgan. Wiscey has served as a therapy horse in VA. No feeding over the fence! Just petting. Where can you stay in the great Smoky Mountains and see 2 amazing horses at liberty?

The bright pink flicks are blooming with summer delight here on the farm! Our two on the trout stream cabins await your visit— for 2 with kitchen or bring friends and enjoy the upstairs suite, a king bed and bath on both levels. A new addition to our farm is Farol, a lusitano gelding we are just getting to know. Friendly pets over the fence make him a heart warming addition to Whisperwood Farm. Just down 321 a flower farm has opened near Carvers Orchard, so now you can gather sunflowers and wildflowers to make a stunning bouquet. Of course swimming in the rivers here is my favorite thing to do. Yes icy cold and completely refreshing. I will let you know all the great spots I’ve discovered here in the last 28 years— or just wade here on the farm in Cosby Creek.

Farm vista toward Mount Cammerer in Great Smoky Mountain National Park considered by Backpacking Zmagazine to be the best hike in the southeast! 13 mile trek from Cosby campground Plenty of rooms and hot tub suites for our adventuring guests. Easy hikes too!

The meadows full of buttercups are a grand reason to take a drive to Cosby and Whisperwood Farm! Our new river cabins are open for the season and the rainbow trout might be biting.
