Idaho artists, Dennis & Frances, created Dog Bark Park as a venue to make, display and sell their chainsaw sculptures. To add to the dog theme of their work they built the two big beagles, the largest of which is open from April 1 - October 31 as a bed & breakfast style guesthouse. One travel party rents the entire beagle, which typically sleeps up to 4 people. As time has allowed they have added other large structures to their outdoor art gallery.

This is the largest moth I've seen in Idaho. It's a Polyphemus moth, also known as a Tarantula moth due to its hairy body. This is a male based on the hairy antennae. Adult moths live about one week and do not eat at all. This one was 4-5 inches wide. Its famous big eyespots on the hindwings were not exposed. Pretty neat!

Can't resist showing off a large spray of volunteer flax at the edge of our driveway. It gets larger each year. Many smaller plants also are flowering hither and yon, thanks I believe to our bird visitors that enjoy spreading seeds in the fall.

Happy Birthday to the Little Free Library network of more than 200,000 take-a-book, leave-a-book boxes around the world. The network, headquartered in Minnesota, was founded today in 2012. With our library box we're proud to help support community and hopefully inspire readers of all ages.
