OK friends, I know, we have not posted anything for to long. But, sadly there has not been much to post about. It has been too hot, too dry and too slow for too long. We finally had a bit of rain last week. We praise God for every drop. The September calendar is filling up. We are offering a discount if you book for the freedom wall event, September 8-12. We are closing in mid Oct, so, make your fall get away plans now, while you can. See you at the Homestead.

The date of the Vietnam Wall & Cost of Freedom Tribute is quickly approaching, so here is a reminder that we have many sizes of flags for sale. We also have brackets and the poles to go in the bracket. And we have the whole kit with a flag included.

Hey friends, just checking in. We are still here, still dusting a lot of soot from everything but, the fires are contained and summer is here in full, hot glory. We are sad about not being able to get our pool going this season, but, just in time, Fort Rob has opened their new water park facility. It's a great addition to our area! And, yup, on one of the hottest days of the year so far, tada! our newest Homestead family member has arrived! Lilly's baby was born sometime last night. Jack is being a wonderful, protective father. We don't have a gender or name yet, but it looks big strong and healthy! Come out and say hello. See you at the Homestead.

Here's an update on the happenings at the Homestead. The 2nd fire is still not fully contained but also not growing. So far we have had no evacuation orders, just some smoky skies. Praise good for the little rain we had! Sadly, there is no realistic way we will get the pool repaired and open this season as of now. The liner is not salvagable, and the company that could replace it estimated $4500 and late July as the earliest time frame to get out here. That does not account for the cost to heat it and run the filtration system for only a 4 to 5 week seson. Taking in to account our lower reservation numbers and cancelations due to the fires, we just can't justify that cost, having replaced the liner and heater just 3 years ago. If a solution comes our way we will let you all know. Fort Robinson has a brand new water feature with a huge slide open to the public so that is great new option for our guests to checknout. It has been a challenging time for our area, not the start to the season we hoped for. But, God is good and we know His plan is best. We hope you have an amazing 4th as we all celebrate our great countries 250th! We have a few opening still and Crawford is throwing a great party! Be safe and see you at the Homestead.
