Well friends, it's already mid April. We are still hoping for some April showers, for those May flowers. All in God's time. The work of getting things ready to open is starting. We are a bit behind and ask for your grace as we have both delt with some health issues the last few months. This getting old thing is not fun. We are looking forward to help from our son's and extend family. We are excited to meet all of you this summer. Book your stay now! Seebyou at the Homestead.

Effective immediately, the State of Nebraska has issued an Executive Order banning all Open Burn Permits for the next 14 days.

During this time, no burn permits can be issued for any purpose, and any previously issued permits issued are now null and void. Open burning is not allowed during this period.

State officials will review conditions before the 14-day period ends to determine if the ban needs to be extended.

Hey Friends, we wanted to check in a let you know that as of now we are safe from the fires. We thank all of you that see our posts and keep an eye on us out here. It means a lot! The drought and fire situation in our state is devastating. We ask for all your prayers and we know that God is in control and His will be done. In spite of very limited moisture the first signs of spring are popping up. The hollyhocks have started to grow! Now is not the time to cancel plans to visit our area. Now more than ever rural Nebraska needs support, and tourism dollars will go a long way. Our booking calendar is pretty empty. There is still a lot to see, do and explore in the area. Woo Hoo friends, it's raining! Praise the Lord! Here it is March 2 and we really haven't had winter yet! We are starting on the to do list for opening! Well friends, we hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and took time to realize all you have to be thankful for. God is so good. We enjoyed a quiet meal in our new home! Our boys were here a few weeks ago to help with shutdown and helped move all the big stuff into the new house. Yeah!! We will be settling in for weeks and the garage and decks are still under construction, but whew, after 5 years of work we are in the house! As we sort through things we plan on being able to upgrade some furniture here and there in the guest room as well. We are going over our plans for next season as we get ready to open online booking by January 1. Keep an eye on the website as we move forward. Safe travels and hope to see you all at the Homestead in 2026!

Hey friends, it's mid October already. We have been enjoying a wonderful fall. Warm days, blue sky's and it hasn't even frosted yet! There are two weeks left in the season, and open rooms on the calendar. Book that last of the season escape today! See you at the Homestead!

We are nearing the end of our new house build here at the Homestead. It's been a long process, but we hope it gives you all confidence in our plans to stay here and keep the Homestead the amazing place it is for all of you to enjoy. We only have about a month left this season. There is still room to book that fun fall get away!

It's mid September and fall is here. The colors are showing up more each day. But it was in the low 90's this afternoon before the late summer thunderstorms rolled in. We will probably be shuting the pool down this weekend. There is still a month and a half in the season. Book that last of the summer get away while you can! See you at the Homestead!
