Little bit of hail in Cripple Creek, Colorado

07/08/2026

As everyone knows, Colorado is currently facing devastating wildfires, especially the Aspen Acres Fire. ❤️🔥

Local photographer and June Blooms Photography owner Megan Van Cura is giving back in an incredible way by donating proceeds from print sales to support those affected by the fire and the resources helping on the front lines.

Her gallery features stunning Colorado landscapes, wildlife, astrophotography, and so much more. If you've been looking for beautiful artwork while supporting an important cause, now is the perfect time.

We purchased this gorgeous print of the road to Cripple Creek, Colorado for our Oso Lucky Lodge cabin and we couldn't be happier with it.

Please consider supporting this amazing local photographer while helping our Colorado communities during this difficult time. Every print makes a difference. ❤️🏔️

Thank you!

Ever wondered what causes the occasional rumble at Oso Lucky Lodge? 🤔🏔️

If you've ever stayed with us and felt what seemed like a tiny earthquake or heard a distant "boom," you probably experienced the nearby mining operations in Cripple Creek!

This video gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the controlled blasting that takes place just a short distance away. It's a unique part of the area's rich gold mining history and something many of our guests find fascinating.

Don't worry—it's completely normal, closely monitored, and just another reminder that you're staying in one of Colorado's most historic mining towns. ⛏️💛

Have you ever felt the rumble during your stay? Tell us in the comments! 👇
