I noticed I’m sorely lacking in content highlighting all the amazing things there are to do in the Cuyuna Area! 🫣

Soooooo, I’m going to more regularly post about our favorite spots so you all have a better idea of what in the heck there is to do around here!

[SAVE] for your next Cuyuna vacation!

To kick things off, we’ll start with the big ticket items we always recommend to first-time Cuyuna visitors as they give you the biggest bang for your buck during your stay!

⛰️ 1. Miner’s Mountain Overlook - located in the Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area. You can drive to the top and park (go slow - it’s narrow!) but I highly recommend parking in the main lot and hiking to the top! It takes about 15-20 minutes, and you might even score some wild raspberries along the way! Sunrise and sunset are particularly beautiful but any time of day works great for the views!

🛶 2. Paddling the crystal clear Cuyuna Mine Lakes - Kayak (try the crystal kayaks from ), canoe, paddleboard, mini toon (check out )…so many options! Yawkey is my personal favorite as it’s surrounded by woods, it’s quieter, and has a resident loon. However, you can’t go wrong with Pennington, Huntington, or Portsmouth, to name a few more!

🚲 3. Mountain biking the trails - 70 miles of dirt single track to choose from with options for all levels. I love Sagamore with the wider trails, fun hills you can “whooo” down, and where you can go a little slower to enjoy the view. If you’re more like my husband and daughter and feel the need for speed, head to the Rally Center and pick your trail of choice! If the dirt trails aren’t your thing, you can take to the paved trail (Cuyuna Lakes State Trail) that goes from Deerwood all the way to Riverton, through the CCSRA and along numerous mine lakes.

🛍️🍔 4. Main Street shops and restaurants: So many options and so little time! You really can’t go wrong. But don’t limit yourself to just Main Street Crosby - check out Ironton, Deerwood, and Cuyuna too! I’ll do a highlight on some of our top recommendations in town and those worth a drive in the future!

Can any other 80’s babies relate? 🤣

I will say though…I have radically changed my mindset regarding social media content in the last couple months and have gone from dreading it to actually looking forward to seeing what my brain can come up with! 🤪

And it seems to be working for growth, exposure, and campsite reservations! 🤩 Plus, I’m just having more fun with it, and I think that really helps others to enjoy it as well 🥰

So enjoy this less-than-flattering angle of me trying to get with the times and shoot some content last summer. 😅

Minnesota summers fly by way too quickly for my liking…doing my best to soak every bit of it up this year!!

If you’re still hoping to RV camp with us this summer, we’ve got a handful of spots for this weekend (6/12-6/14) but after that, weekend availability is pretty well booked until mid-July/early August! Don’t let the summer slip away!
