🔥 **BBQ COMPETITION CONTESTANT RULES** 🔥

Please read through the full rules before competition day so everything runs smoothly.

# # # 1. Competition Requirements

* All cooking must be completed on site at the designated competition location.
* Contestants may prepare, season, marinate, and cook their entries on site.
* No fully cooked meats may be brought in from off-site locations.
* Contestants are responsible for maintaining a clean and safe cooking area throughout the competition.

# # # 2. Competition Categories

Contestants will compete in the following categories:

* Ribs
* Brisket
* Pork
* Miscellaneous

Contestants may enter one or multiple categories.

# # # 3. Turn-In Time & Location

* All competition entries must be delivered to the **Smoke Shack by the pool area** between **5:05 p.m. and 5:10 p.m.**
* No early or late turn-ins will be accepted.
* Entries arriving after **5:10 p.m.** will be disqualified from that category.
* Contestants are responsible for ensuring their entries arrive at the Smoke Shack by the pool area within the designated turn-in window.

# # # 4. Turn-In Boxes & Presentation

* **Pandora’s will provide official turn-in boxes at the time of registration.**
* Contestants will receive **one box for each category entered.**
* Each turn-in box must contain **five samples — one sample for each of the five judges.**
* Entries should be presented neatly and in a manner suitable for judging.
* Judges will evaluate the overall visual appeal of the entry before tasting.

# # # 5. Flavor

Judges will evaluate each entry based on flavor, including seasoning, smoke, tenderness, sauce if used, and overall taste.

# # # 6. Judging & Grand BBQ Master

Entries will be judged based on the established competition scoring criteria.

Each entry will receive points based on the judges’ scores.

The **Grand BBQ Master** will be determined by the contestant with the **highest total accumulation of points across all categories entered.**

Judges’ decisions and final point totals will be final.

# # # 7. General Rules

* All contestants must follow the event schedule and instructions provided by the competition organizers.
* Contestants are responsible for their own equipment, fuel, ingredients, and cooking supplies.
* All cooking equipment must be operated safely and responsibly.
* Unsportsmanlike conduct, interference with another contestant, or failure to follow competition rules may result in disqualification.
* The competition organizers reserve the right to make final decisions regarding rule interpretation, scoring, and eligibility.

# # # 8. Final Reminder

**Cook on site. Cook with pride. Turn in on time.**

If you’re bringing a side for the Redneck Potluck, please let us know what you’re bringing by Wednesday, Sept. 2 — same deadline as BBQ competition entries.
Don’t have a side to bring? No problem! Couples can still join the potluck dinner for $10 per couple.
