A Parking Lot Christmas:
At first thought, one might think that spending Christmas eve in a parking lot is a sad state of affairs.
As I went to bed there were of course very few here. When I awoke, there's some 30 nomadic rigs of every type and size. Looking across the way, truckers who delivered Christmas line the truckstop having given up their own Christmas with family to do so.
All here together, yet each with our own stories and experience. As we look around we are reminded we are not alone this Christmas eve and day.
When morning dawns, some will go their way while others stay. The peace and quiet in the early morning, no engines or generators running so as to not wake others beside and near us.
Yes it's definitely a shared Christmas that reminds us of the peace on earth that passeth all human understanding, yet felt by each and everyone in their own way.
What a beautiful Christmas Day.
