Meet Mocha, a frequent flyer… or should we say frequent swimmer… at Ruby Creek Resort! 🐾

Mocha is a chocolate Lab from Chelan who never wastes much time getting down to business when he arrives. His favorite spot is the beach, and his preferred vacation activity is swimming after his ball as many times as his dad is willing to throw it.

A few fun facts about Mocha:
🐶 Chocolate Lab and professional ball retriever
🌊 Believes every trip to the river should include a swim
🎾 Has never heard the words “one last throw”
🏖️ Considers the Ruby Creek beach his home away from home
🚗 Happily makes the trip from Chelan for a little river time

One of the crown jewels of the Pend Oreille River Valley is just a day trip north of Ruby Creek Resort. 💦

Towering 233 feet above the Pend Oreille River, Peewee Falls is the tallest freestanding waterfall in Northeast Washington. It plunges down the dramatic cliffs of Z-Canyon, an area shaped by the construction of Boundary Dam and surrounded by rugged canyon walls, hidden waterfalls and some of the most breathtaking scenery in our region.

Originally known as Periwee Falls, the waterfall was named after a French fur trapper who first settled in the area. Today, it is best experienced from the water, where paddlers can take in the full scale of the falls from below. A newer trailhead and viewing platform across the canyon also offer expansive views from land.

From Ruby Creek Resort, head north to the Boundary Dam Campground, launch your kayaks and spend the day exploring one of Northeast Washington’s most unforgettable places.

Summer isn’t finished with us yet, but have you noticed that first hint of fall in the air? 🍂

We’re soaking up every last warm day on the river while preparing for the cooler mornings, changing leaves, and crockpot meals.

With the remainder of our season fully booked, we’re feeling especially grateful for another wonderful summer at Ruby Creek Resort. If you missed out this year, our 2027 reservation books are open and dates are already filling up. Now is the perfect time to put next summer on the calendar. 🌲

Turns out, waking up early might be one of the best parts of vacation. ☀️☕️

Our final Rhythm on the River concert of the summer is this Saturday! 🎶🌲

Join us Saturday, August 22 for an evening with Homebrew Stringband, featuring Gary & Alyse Read and Brad Keeler. They’re bringing a fun mix of bluegrass, Americana and old-time favorites to the river, with plenty of familiar tunes to sing along to.
