Fall in the forest… truly my favorite time of year. Who else agrees?!?

Who doesn’t love waking up to fresh warm pastries in their treemail?!!

Up north they’re tucking the bees in for winter. Down here, they’re still clocking in.

Mid-October in the North Georgia mountains, and the girls are hauling pollen like it’s July.

That orange on their legs isn’t decoration. Pollen is protein, and protein feeds brood. Which means the queen is still laying, and the bees being raised right now are winter bees: built fat, built tough, built to live months instead of weeks.

Every load coming through that door is a little more insurance for February.

We’ll start winterizing later this month. Until then, the night shift keeps working.

TEA PARTY IN THE TREES!!! When our guests said they wanted to celebrate their 50th birthdays with a tea party, we knew exactly who to call! Our friends at Teas & Hot Chocolate from Dahlonega, GA! did not disappoint! They had the cutest tableware and tea set, incredible tea selection and they also went above and beyond by making our guests take-home teas with the cutest custom labels! We made and decorated the Alice in Wonderland theme cake and cookies! The icing was a buttercream with infused earl gray tea! The ladies loved everything so much that they went and visited Tea Rabbits downtown to get more tea and indulge in all they have to offer. This was such a fun experience that we have decided to add it to our offerings in the forest! Look for more events and offerings in the trees with our great friends at Tea Rabbits!

(I wish I would have been able to get more footage of this event because it was such an immersive experience, but you will just have to stayed tuned for the next one! Or book your ow tea party, of course 😉)

New fall activity unlocked! Stargazing while enjoying caramel apples! Of course you’ve got to have THE BEST from our hometown favorite, Paul Thomas Chocolates ! Doesn’t get much better than this! What do yall think?!

Things that make our hearts happy…

Our guests left this drawing and a kind note when they left this week. It completely made our day! Sometimes there are definitely tough days out in the forest for us, but small gestures like this remind us why we do what we do. We are so blessed to live in such a beautiful place that shows off God’s masterpiece and we absolutely love sharing our little corner of the world with y’all! So thank you Sax family, you gave us such a special reminder and made our hearts very happy. See y’all in the trees soon!

Don’t worry, we haven’t abandoned our yurt project!! She’s still there, we’ve just hit lots of obstacles and annoying delays. We will keep plugging away and can’t wait to have yall out to experience yurt life in the forest sometime soon!
