Lake Cove Resort

Lake Cove Resort A lakefront resort community made up of permanent residents, worldwide travelers, campers & day guest

Lake Cove Resort has been the premier family oriented resort on Douglas Lake for the past 30 years. Husband-and-wife team, Steve and Cammie Palmer, opened the grounds in 1991 with a vision to build an exciting destination for RV enthusiasts, campers, and cabin dwellers to bring their families on memorable vacations. Combining Steve’s propensity for construction with Cammie’s great instincts for ho

spitality, Lake Cove was transformed from the site of a former horse ranch into a booming lakeside retreat. Starting off with only a few RVs and a pool, the Palmers built lodging and recreation from small cabins and the clubhouse, to a boat ramp, to a miniature golf course, and basketball, horseshoe and volleyball courts. Each year still, hundreds of families from across the United States visit Lake Cove Resort to relax on the lake, enjoy the resort amenities, and adventure to nearby attractions. Only a short drive from the Great Smoky Mountains, Gatlinburg, Dollywood, and Pigeon Forge, guests experience the spectacular views of the lake and mountains in a comfortable setting. You and your family are invited to come stay at Lake Cove and come see for yourselves!

It's a beautiful winter wonderland in Dandridge. It's also COLD!!!!!

Quick reminders: Please leave your faucets dripping and if possible leave cabinets open so that the heat can get to your pipes.
Our driveway is very slick this morning. The only people we have seen successfully maneuver it are those with trucks or 4WD. As you can see in the pictures Oak Grove Road is not much better. If at all possible we suggest that you hunker down for the day. Stay safe and stay warm!

🚨 Bear Activity Alert – Please Read & Stay Aware 🚨

Over the last couple of weeks, our department has received several reports of increased bear activity in and around downtown Dandridge—particularly in the areas of Cherokee Drive, Main Street, Evans Lane, Summit Ridge, Pine Ridge, and Meeting Street.

This is not uncommon for our area, especially as bears search for easy food sources. We want to remind everyone to stay alert and take a few simple steps to help keep both residents and wildlife safe.

🐻 Safety Tips to Reduce Bear Encounters:
• Secure all trash in containers and keep it inside until pickup day, not at the road.
• Remove bird feeders—bears are highly attracted to seeds and suet.
• Keep pet food indoors and clean up outdoor grills after use.
• Do not leave food in vehicles, even overnight.
• Give bears space—never approach, feed, or attempt to scare them off.
• If you see a bear, stay calm, make noise, and give it an escape route.

Bears typically move on when they don’t find an easy meal. Working together, we can help ensure our community stays safe while respecting the wildlife that shares our area. Remember, we are in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains where bears and other wildlife live. Be thankful we live in such a beautiful place and that we get to experience an occasional sighting.
Seeing a bear is not a reason to call 911.

Stay safe, Dandridge! 🐾
