Do you play piano or want a place to relax and read?

If so, our not so formal living room is the place for you.

Guests love it for time alone or for small group conversations. It is also perfect for games or a jigsaw puzzle.

With chilly weather coming the fireplace is ideal!

Upstairs refresh!

The hall lounge and coffee/ snack bar has been a big hit with guests as it is conveniently located right outside three of our bedrooms.

This couple was a joy and we loved helping them navigate Danville and showing them some Southern hospitality.

Yet another Kathy Wilson specialty.

We cannot wait to try a new breakfast casserole called the "Dolly" this AM.

Given the name there is little doubt it will make the breakfast rotation at The 1881.

We love our college football Saturdays at the 1881.

Last week we stayed up with guests from Texas watching them pull off the win over Ohio State.

This week after Centre's homecoming game guests are talking of either grabbing some BBQ from the Grill house - Perryville or some steaks at Dry Branch Farm Market to grill for tonight's games.

We are known for mixing the old with the new at The 1881 and our TVs are no different.

Art is a big part of the energy here.

We certainly did not want to ruin the look of our rooms with your typical TV hanging so other than the "Founders" room (which is the 1790 cabin turned bedroom where you can't hang anything) we use "art" TVs that gives us the best of both worlds.

With the push of a button what looks like great art above the mantle changes to you being able to catch that game, listen to some music, catch up on the news or even have a movie night with your family.

You can see the difference between football and art as well as how they look in a couple of our bedrooms.

We doubt many guest will use the entertainment options in their room excessively given their schedules and all the other great things to do in the area.

We do our job by making it an available option free of charge.

It is one of the many things we do in order to ensure that our amenities for what we do (a "Bed" and a "Breakfast" no spa) are not just the nicest in the surrounding area but on par with comparable five star accommodations across the globe.
