Ivy provided a wonderful overview of her first trip to Dauphin Island in our guest book. She particularly enjoyed the Alabama Aquarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, the Gulf Shores Zoo, Bellingrath Gardens & Home, Fort Gaines, Mobile Bay Ferry, and Audubon Bird Sanctuary. And I love hearing that she enjoyed the coloring books we keep in a drawer in the kitchen. 😊 Thank you, Ivy! We hope you will visit again!

Another beautiful park, just across the Dauphin Island bridge (towards Mobile) is Bayfront Park. Recently renovated, it has paved walking trails, an elevated boardwalk, a playground, covered pavilions, and a sandy beach on Mobile Bay. It’s lovely, quiet, and free to visit.

Lending Library on the Island? Yes Please. 😉 If you have a reader in your group, be sure to stop by the Town of Dauphin Island Welcome Center. They have a wonderful selection of books and puzzles, as well as brochures and flyers for local attractions. Staffed by friendly, helpful locals.

Today I visited the Christopher Blankenship Eco-Tourism and Kayak launch area just before the DI bridge (Island side). It is a beautiful park with picnic tables for lunch with a view, a small sandy beach, and two elevated boardwalks. Fantastic views of the bay and the perfect spot for a quiet day on the water or to launch your kayak or a paddleboard.

❤️❤️ We love the patio at The Carriage. Beautiful views of the Gulf and Bay. Stop by for a cold beer and a sandwich, a delicious brunch and some bubbly, or a fabulous glass of wine and some nibbles. It’s the perfect spot to unwind.

The excursions with the Alabama Aquarium at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab are so fun-you get to see a whole new perspective of the Island. I can’t wait to check out this new nighttime excursion!

This is a beautiful waterfront park just over the Dauphin Island bridge. It has a fantastic playground, picnic areas, a sandy area on the bay, and a 900 ft boardwalk through marshland. Make the short drive to visit this incredible addition to South Mobile County.
