5:00 a.m. Sunday Update...Hurricane models continue to forecast Ian moving west as it enters the Gulf of Mexico. Ian is expected to become a hurricane later today or tonight and reach major hurricane strength by late Monday or Monday night before it reaches western Cuba. Remember...models are not exact. Emergency Management will continue to monitor this storm and update you.

Flood warnings remain in effect for Polk County until further notice. Sandbags are available at county maintenance facilities across the county. Go to https://www.polk-county.net/emergency-management/sandbag-fill-sites for locations.
