We had a lovely day yesterday with our good friends Gillian and Simon (a.k.a The British Snowbirds). An early start at Magic Kingdom, a few rides and quite a bit of time just sat catching up as we all haven't been together in Florida for about a year!

We generally tend to leave the day to Gillian as she is brilliant at coming up with ideas and surprises, many times things we've never done or even heard of so I'm sure she won't mind me sharing one of the things from yesterday.

We got the boat from MK over to Fort Wilderness resort and visited the stables. We even saw the horse that pulled our carriage when (another one of Gillian and Simon's fantastic surprises) we did this for my birthday in 2025. There are some great pictures and a beautiful Calliope, as well as being able to see the horses and even watch them being tended to. There is also a little pony trail for children, we watched one little girl go out and her face was a picture, she absolutely loved it.

Not something that takes up a lot of time but just another example of something else you can that's a little different.

We debated whether to go out today but decided we would go to Disney Springs.

Well must have been meant to be as we visited the Disney art store (as we always do 😁) and there was an artists signing day on, but sadly he wasn’t there. We took a look through the prints and Julie found just one copy of a scene from Brother Bear. For those that don’t know our daughter Emily and her fiancé James have a beautiful Golden Irish dog they have called Koda from this film.

We had to get the picture for them and hung around for an hour or so until the artist returned and he signed the print for them - two very happy people.

So today's adventure and new experience was a bit impromptu and it literally became Palm Sunday!! 🌴We don't have a lot of these in Northumberland!!!

Some of the branches on the palm trees at the entrance were drooping and looked like they needed trimming. It ended up being one of those jobs that when you start you uncovered more and more. Many dead or damaged branches and all under the watchful eye of Secret Squirrel.

A massive thanks to our lovely neighbour Michael who not only lent me his ladders and saws but ended up cutting down quite a few of the branches for me - very much appreciated.

Whilst we love staying at our villa it makes it even more special when we get bookings while we are here. That's now 2 since we arrived (and still time for some more 😁).

We do get quite a few returning guests which is lovely for us as not only do we get to know people a bit more, but shows we must be doing something right for people to come back to us. However, it is always fantastic to get new guests, who hopefully will become repeat visitors and also nice to find them from new sources.

As well as our own website we use quite a few pages to advertise Goofys Golf Getaway and also a few listing sites (you wouldn't believe how many we get approached by all promising us loads of bookings!!) so it was great to get our first one for this booking through the Knightstrider Villas Marketplace website and fingers crossed we can get some more from this site.
