Little things that can make a BIG difference on your Florida holiday! 🌴☀️

We’ve welcomed British guests to Florida for over 12 years, and these are some of those handy tips you might not think about until you’re here! 👇

🔌 1. Bring a UK Extension Lead
Instead of buying lots of US travel adapters, bring a UK extension lead and plug it into one good-quality US adapter. You can then charge several UK devices together.
⚠️ Remember: an adapter changes the plug shape, not the voltage — always check your appliance says 100–240V before plugging it in.

🚗 2. Know Where You Parked!
Florida theme-park car parks are HUGE! Before walking away from your hire car, take a quick photo of the row/section sign or drop a pin on your phone. After a long Disney day, you’ll be very glad you did! 😂

💳 3. When Paying by Card, Choose DOLLARS
If a card machine gives you the choice between paying in GBP (£) or USD ($), choosing USD will usually let your own bank/card provider handle the conversion rather than accepting the retailer’s exchange rate. Check whether your card charges foreign transaction fees too.

⛈️ 4. Don’t Let a Florida Downpour Fool You!
That blue sky can turn into a tropical downpour very quickly — especially in summer! Pack a small poncho or lightweight rain jacket in your park bag. The good news? Florida rain can disappear almost as quickly as it arrives! ☀️

Little packing tricks that can save a BIG headache!

Travelling from the UK to Florida? Here are 3 simple tips we’ve picked up over the years that are definitely worth doing:

👧 1. Pack a “just in case” outfit for the kiddos
Pop a complete change of clothes into a Ziploc bag and keep it in your hand luggage. If little ones are travel sick, spill a drink or have an accident, you’ve got clean clothes ready to go — and the dirty ones can go straight back into the sealed bag.
Actually, not a bad idea for the grown-ups too! 😉

🎀 2. Make your suitcase EASY to spot
Got a Disney, Mickey or Minnie suitcase? Chances are, someone else on your Orlando flight does too! 😂
Tie a piece of brightly coloured gift ribbon securely around the handle. It makes your case much easier to recognise on the baggage carousel and, unlike some luggage tags, it’s less likely to get caught and ripped off.

🧳 3. Don’t pack everyone in separate suitcases
Instead of Mum’s clothes in one case, Dad’s in another and the kids’ in theirs, mix a few outfits for each person between your suitcases.
If one case decides to take its own vacation and arrives a day or two late, everyone should still have some clothes and essentials to get by until it catches up! ✈️😅

Planning your Florida holiday? Here are 5 things many UK visitors don’t discover until they arrive!

✅ 1. Don’t rely on cash
Most places prefer card payments, even for small purchases. Contactless is accepted almost everywhere.

🚗 2. Keep right!
Driving is on the right-hand side of the road, and you can usually turn right at a red light after stopping (unless a sign says otherwise).

💧 3. Stay hydrated
Florida’s heat and humidity can catch you by surprise—even in winter. Carry water wherever you go.

⛈️ 4. Afternoon storms are normal
During summer, short but heavy thunderstorms are common. They usually pass quickly, so don’t let them ruin your plans.

🛒 5. Supermarkets are HUGE!
Stores like Publix, Walmart and Target have almost everything you’ll need, so there’s no need to overpack.
