Raising a child on the autism spectrum brings incredible joy, but it can also ask a lot of a family. Finding a place where everyone feels comfortable, supported and at ease isn’t always easy.

Camp SOAR was created with your family in mind. This Labor Day weekend, YMCA Camp Classen opens its peaceful trails, lakes and wide-open spaces to families with children on the autism spectrum, offering time to rest, connect and just be together.

Today we are celebrating Camp Corral 🇺🇸 Hero Day 🇺🇸! We kicked off the afternoon with a visit from the Davis Firetruck! Our campers had a blast exploring the truck, putting on the gear👨‍🚒and learning about all the tools on the truck! Thank you Davis Fire Department for coming to camp today 🚒 🔥🇺🇸

For the second year, Camp Classen is proud to partner with New View Oklahoma's OWL Camp — Oklahomans Without Limits — welcoming campers who are blind or visually impaired for a week of horseback riding, archery, climbing, and kayaking, each paired with a sighted buddy. Confidence built. Limits challenged. Friendships made.

Families are already in for Camp SOAR this Labor Day weekend — and we’re saving room for up to 25.
Camp SOAR (Spectrum Outdoors, Adventure and Recreation) is YMCA Camp Classen’s new family camp weekend for families raising children on the autism spectrum. Friday, Sept. 4 through Monday, Sept. 7.
🏕️ Private cabins for every family
🍽️ All meals included, in a nut-free dining hall
🐴 A flexible equestrian experience guided by your child’s comfort — no pressure to ride
🎯 Every activity is optional, at your own pace
💙 Activity leaders trained in TBRI (Trust-Based Relational Intervention)
We’re keeping this weekend small on purpose, so it stays calm and spacious for every family who comes. That means space really is limited.
