May we all work towards the day when everyone is paid the same wage no matter their gender, race and ethnicity.

Today we recognize Equal Pay Day. This date symbolizes how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year.

In 2000, Equal Pay Day was on May 11. Over those years, we’ve moved the day almost two months forward. But we still have 2 ½ months to go.

Today, we reflect on the work that has been done while looking forward to the impact we can continue to make.

By helping empower women and eliminating systemic barriers to equal pay, we hope someday soon we won’t need an Equal Pay Day.
