I tried a new-to-me restaurant. It's called the Blazing Star and is located at 120 East Water Street in Decorah, which is about five blocks away from the house. I had the Smokey Chipotle Bowl. I added the jammie egg and the mushrooms. So very good! The Blazing Star offers only vegan cuisine so if you're up for trying something different definitely give them a try!

On day one of my week-long visit to Decorah, my girl Teffany joined me. After much discussion and contemplation we had lunch at La Rana Bistro, just a few blocks from the house. I had the ahi tuna pita and Teffany had their burger. I would easily give my choice a 9 or a 9 1/2. It was delicious! We wandered down the street a few blocks to a cute little gift shop called Rendered Unique and I came away with a couple of half price candles which smell delicious. After Teffany left for home I looked out the window and there were five deer strolling down the sidewalk right in front of the house. So day one is in the books and it was fabulous!

Here at Tusen Takk, we offer locally roasted gourmet coffee from Impact Coffee. It is such a hit with our guests that I had to put a note on the bag asking them not to take it home :-) .
