🚨 The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office is reminding residents and visitors to take extra precautions following several recent vehicle break-ins at canoe access landings near the Bluffton area.

🔒 Please remember to:
• Lock your vehicle every time you leave it.
• Remove valuables and personal belongings from your vehicle.
• Avoid leaving your vehicle parked overnight at canoe access areas when possible.
• Be aware of your surroundings and report anything suspicious.

If you see a person, vehicle, or activity that seems suspicious, please contact the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office. Your information could help prevent another break-in.

Please share this information with friends, family, and anyone who enjoys the canoe access areas in the area.

We are excited to announce that on September 10 2026 we will be expanding our resort across the river. The two campgrounds in Bluffton will unite as one resort with shared amenities. We would like to thank Kenny White and his wife for the great partnership over the years.
If you already have reservations with White’s Campground or would like to book a reservation for September 10th or after, please reach out to Bluffton Resort so we can make sure the transition goes as smoothly as possible. We are working on our online reservation system but it will take time to get it updated. We look forward to serving you!

There aren’t many places in Iowa where you can pull up to a small-town resort, grab a bite or drink, and have limestone bluffs and the Upper Iowa River right outside the door.

This is Bluffton Resort & Bar in Bluffton, Iowa — tucked into one of the most scenic stretches of northeast Iowa. It’s a favorite stop for paddlers, campers, and anyone chasing a good river day.

The Upper Iowa River wraps right past the property, with those towering bluffs in the background. Pretty hard to beat this kind of Iowa view.
