Memory Verses for Campers
Genesis 1:3-5 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light
was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the
darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
Psalm 119:105-106 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. I have taken an oath
and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.
Psalm 19:1-4 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his
hands.Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have
no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the
earth, their words to the ends of the world.
Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?
Isaiah 40:25-26 “To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry
host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty
strength, not one of them is missing.
John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing
was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The
light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
Ephesians 5:8, 13-14 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as
children of light. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible—and everything that is
illuminated becomes a light. This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and
Christ will shine on you.”
1 John 1:5-7 God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with
him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light,
as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son,
purifies us from all sin.
2 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special
possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his
wonderful light.
Revelation 21:23-24 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of
God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of
the earth will bring their splendor into it.
