Sometimes it’s having cookware ready so dinner does not have to come from a drive-thru again.
Sometimes it is a quiet place to call family, fold laundry, or sit down without feeling like life is still packed in a suitcase.

My go-to sourdough recipe that actually works

Sourdough baking does not have to be complicated to be rewarding. This simple approach focuses on consistency, patience, and creating something that brings comfort to your everyday routine (and we’re not saying it’s Anna’s favorite recipe, but we’re not NOT saying that…). AThose small, grounding moments, like fresh bread in the kitchen, are part of what makes a place truly feel like home.

SOURDOUGH RECIPE

Measure out 200g Sourdough Starter, add 600ml of water and mix thoroughly
Slowly integrate 800mlg 00flour mixed with 200mlg wheat flour
Cover and let rise for 30 minutes in a warm spot (no more than 90°f)
Weigh 20g salt and 50ml water
Once risen, uncover the dough and sprinkle the salt evenly
Pour water atop, thoroughly mix
Cover and let rise for 30 minutes in a warm spot (no more than 90°f)
Flip and fold the dough to add air (best done with wet hands lifting and folding the dough.Turn the bowl 90°f and repeat 3 times).

Cover and let rise for 45 minutes in a warm spot (no more than 90°f)
Repeat Flip and Fold as well as rise twice
Turn out dough on a floured surface (rice flour works best)
Divide the dough in half
Let rest 30 minutes
Sprinkle flour on proofing baskets, transfer dough to proofing baskets
Cover proofing baskets and dough with wet towel, let rise for 2-4 hours
Preheat oven with dutch oven inside to 475°f
Transfer dough to dutch oven and cut scores in top to allow moisture to escape
Bake covered for 20 minutes, then uncovered for 20 minutes
Repeat baking process for second loaf.
