Carbon monoxide (CO) is a poisonous gas that you can't see, smell, or taste, and it can become deadly in enclosed or partially enclosed spaces (tents, RVs, campers).

CO can come from vehicles, portable generators and heaters, fires, camping stoves and grills, and lanterns. Here are some tips to avoid CO poisoning:
• Don't leave your car, truck, or RV idling close to enclosed areas.
• Don't sit in a parked, running car for a long time.
• Never use fuel-burning equipment (generators, heaters, camping stoves, grills, and lanterns) inside a tent or camper. These are made to be used outside only. If you do have a portable generator, place it at least 20 feet from people and enclosed areas.

A safe camping trip is a better camping trip! Whether you’re pitching a tent, settling into an RV or camper, or enjoying one of Lake Holiday’s cozy rental units, take a few precautions to help keep everyone safe. Ready for your next getaway? Make reservations at Lake Holiday Camp Resort in Indiana at www.lakeholidaycamp.com or call 219-345-3132.
