Hotel Denison History

Hotel Denison is a landmark in Downtown Denison. It was built in 1884 by Murray Smith. The original Hotel Denison was destroyed by a fire in 1920 and later opened as The Simpson Hotel in 1924. Guests ranged from Roy Rogers to Sam Rayburn to Harry Houdini.

The hotel is currently closed and undergoing renovations.
