Staying with us? Here are a few great things to do in the La Vista neighborhood:
1. City Park
Established in 1882, this 320-acre park truly has it all! Scenic views of Denver, lakes, playgrounds, ducks, and great walking routes that connect to nearby neighborhoods.
2. Denver Museum of Nature & Science
Located just east of the park, this is the largest museum between Chicago and the West Coast. It houses over 1.2 million artifacts. In 2025, while renovating the parking lot, crews even uncovered 67.5-million-year-old dinosaur vertebrae.
3. Bluebird Theater
Just down Colfax Ave, this historic venue opened in 1915 as the Thompson Theatre, originally showing films. Renamed in 1922, it operated as a movie house until it closed in the 1980s. After a 1994 renovation, it became a beloved live music venue hosting legendary acts.
4. Tessa Delicatessen
A short walk east of La Vista down Colfax ave., this lovely sandwich shop created by LA chef Vince Howard is known for its elevated, chef-driven sandwiches. Don’t miss the OG Italian.
5. Stanley Marketplace
Just a quick drive away, this vibrant marketplace is perfect for shopping and dining. Once the Stanley Aviation hangar, it was transformed in 2017 into a hub for locally owned, independent businesses with a great mix of restaurants and shops.
There
are plenty of other fantastic shops and restaurants throughout the neighborhood, all worth exploring. Feel free to reach out with any questions—we hope to see you soon!
